Workflow orchestration and automation API.
Pi-Symphony is the core of our payment orchestration platform. It is a powerful engine that intelligently routes each transaction to the most suitable acquirer or payment processor. This dynamic routing is not just based on a simple waterfall logic, but on a set of customizable rules and real-time performance metrics to ensure the highest success rate and lowest processing cost. It sits between your checkout and your payment providers, and for every transaction that comes through, it automatically decides which provider to send it to — in real time, in milliseconds.
That decision is based on three things evaluated simultaneously: - Approval likelihood — which provider is most likely to approve this specific transaction, based on the card type, currency, amount, and real-time provider performance data - Processing cost — what it will cost to process the transaction at each available provider - Contract status — whether any provider is behind on its monthly volume commitment and should be prioritised accordingly
The result: more transactions approved, lower processing costs, and contract obligations met — without your operations team having to watch a dashboard or make manual changes. The highest-scoring provider receives the transaction. If that provider fails or does not respond, Pi Symphony automatically retries with the next best option — invisibly, in milliseconds, with no impact on the customer.
Most businesses that work with multiple payment providers manage routing through static rules — configurations set up once and rarely revisited. The problem is that provider performance changes constantly. A provider that works well for one card type or region may underperform for another. Costs vary. Approval rates fluctuate. And if your business has committed to sending a minimum volume of transactions to a specific provider each month, tracking and honouring that commitment manually is time-consuming and easy to get wrong.
Pi Symphony removes all of that overhead. It evaluates every single transaction individually, in milliseconds, and makes a routing decision based on three things simultaneously: which provider is most likely to approve this specific transaction, what it will cost to process it at each available provider, and whether any contractual volume commitments need to be factored in. The result is a routing decision that is always current, always optimised, and always consistent — without anyone on your team having to intervene.
If the selected provider fails to respond, returns a technical error, or declines the transaction, Pi Symphony automatically moves to the next best option. This failover happens seamlessly and invisibly — the customer sees no disruption, and the transaction is not lost. Providers that experience elevated failure rates are deprioritised automatically until their performance recovers.
Pi Symphony is built to run quietly in the background, improving payment performance continuously. It connects to your existing providers, works within whatever business rules you need to enforce, and gets better over time as it learns from the outcome of every transaction it routes.
Pi Symphony surfaces the metrics that matter for understanding routing performance — available through the PayIntelli dashboard and via API. - Authorisation rate — the percentage of transactions successfully approved across all providers - Routing savings — the cost difference between the provider selected and the next alternative - Provider breakdown — volume, approval rate, and cost per provider - Contract tracking — real-time fulfilment progress per acquirer, with forecasts through to month-end - Trend comparisons — how each metric is moving relative to the previous period
